Abstract: Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) is a prevalent
condition in the elderly population, which leads changes in the
neuromuscular system and causes gait disturbances and abnormalities.
Diagnosis was based on confirmation of anatomical stenosis on MRI and
review of patient neurogenic intermittent claudication history. Gait
analysis is increasingly being used to characterize dysfunction of the
neuromuscular and orthopedic diseases, however, its application in LSS
has not got enough attention. This systematic review has described the
application of the gait analysis in LSS, aims to provide a comprehensive
understanding and method of gait analysis in LSS patients, as well as
summarizing the etiology of the abnormalities, the clinical value of the
gait analysis and its future application foresight.
