  Abstract :

Exosomes, small extracellular membrane vesicles released by various cells, play important roles in cell-to-cell communication via transporting various  proteins, DNA strand and RNA.The functional molecular included in exosomes could regulate cellular signaling pathways and finally impact the behaviors of recipient cells. Exosomes has been reported involving in a wide range of diseases processes such as induction of inflammation, tumorigenesis and metastasis. Recently, it has been considered  as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA). In this review, we discuss  recent advances in the roles of exosomes in OA and RA and the potential clinical applications of stem-cell-derived exosomes.
